For Gitter Done - I cleaned the toilet!

What?  You thought I was kidding.  No way.
I had to do something.
Well, I did a couple of other things, too.

I'm in the Gitter Done mode, one could say.

Ahh.  Now I can breathe.  Got-it done today!

Making ALL of my Christmas gifts this year.  Ordered the Madagascar vanilla beans, bought the vodka.

Spilt the beans.
Put the beans in the liquor, stored the bottle in a bag in a dark closet.  Homemade vanilla in the making.  Got-her Done!

And then, EC, had a surprise for me.  YAY!
He doesn't do surprise things so much.
He's a practical romantic.
Not today.
He ordered Filet Mignon, Steamed Veggies, Brown Rice & Sauteed Mushrooms from
my
ALL TIME FAVORITE OH MY GOSH MAKE YOUR MOUTH WATER, HEART SING
restaurant.

A gorgeous meal.
Just for me.
Wanna know why?
He said, "for all the millions of things you are constantly doing for me and for us!"
Be still my heart.

I had already started Gettin' at her B4 this photo was taken.
Melt in your mouth steak!

Oh, and that chocolate divinity in the background?
You noticed it, didn't you?
Creamy, dreamy, chocolate mousse, cream, chocolate dream pie cream
with fresh raspberry sauce on top.

Dreams do come true!

So while I'm Gettin' this done....
Every last morsel...

I'll be thinking and planning on Gettin' THIS DONE for the next
Gitter Done!

OY!

VEY!

This is MY closet.

Have a great night!

She said, "Color", right?

These are the colors in my world.  They give me life.

Adding other colors is really difficult.

Nature sustains me.  I'm home all day l-o-n-g with my sons, so moving nature indoors is what I do best.

A pile of rocks here.

Leaves over there.

Wood, sticks, branches in that corner.

Slowly I have been adding these elements into our home.
(gosh do these change overs take forever or what?)
That's my goal.

One day I fell deeply in love with the blend of these colors.

So I started adding them to our home.

The kitchen is as far as I got.

So Donna put out the color challenge (was it a challenge?)  For me, yes.

Since I'm such a risk taker I thought, I'm up for it.  I'll take this broken chandelier shade and add some color.  If I don't like it, no biggey.  I'll just go buy another linen colored one and replace it.

Mix the paint.

Yep, that's the color I want.

NOT!

It scared me.  A lot.

Now, you'd think that color wouldn't scare me.
Look at the color of our house!
(don't tell anyone.  I don't like it.)
We picked it out years ago.  We thought we liked it.  It IS a happy color.
It's a great paint job. I learned a VALUABLE lesson here.
When going for color, start small.
real small.
(this, btw, is a work in progress...next week it's WINDOW SILLS over at Donna's)

So I painted the front door this summer.
Fired Earth.
(might describe me, I don't know)
I LOVE it!

Just yesterday, my neighbor, the sweetest of all neighbors, who has a blog, lives right next door, and is one of the craftiest people I have EVER met, made this for me!

A felted wool garland of leaves.

I hung them here on the woodsy wreath.

Small change.  Huge pop of color!

Sweaters to PILLOWS! Re- purposed!

I do not have great before photos.  I was way too inspired.  I couldn't stop!

Picasso Pile of Sweaters!
(EC said this photo looked like a Picasso painting!  LOL!)
(from thrift stores - cheapos - nice beautiful fabrics!)

Cut up strips of leftovers from a big daddy fleece sweater.  I used this for stuffing!

Scraps to make some decorations on one of the pillows.

Hand sewing the leaves and branches.

Each side has a pocket. (these were the side, hip pockets on an Eddie Bauer men's sweater - complete with elbow patches - I still have those!!)

Cut the whole line of front buttons off the EB sweater - added them to the pillow for decoration.

NEXT
Old Navy vest - complete with moth holes (upper right).
Beautiful lambs wool!!  Yummy!!

Cut the argyle stripes, sewed them onto the pillow.  The ruffles were made with the waste band.  The rosettes made from the scraps.

Golly was this fun!!!

She sits kinda pretty either way.

I did these today, Sunday afternoon!

Looks like inspiration has hit!!

Our new addition!

Meet Liza!
She came by way of a rescue mission in Georgia.  The good and kind animal people in a town nearby our home picked her up and took good care of her since August.  Then we met her.  Fell in love.  And the rest is history.
She's our 6 yo's dog.

Our 10 yo has his sweet Kylie-girl.

Liza in the kitchen.  Now, isn't this funny? She's brown with teal colored eyes!!!  No really!  She matches my decor!!!  I LOVE that!!!

She was smelling these....

...garlic, onion, Bison burgers!

Liza has a sweet disposition.  She's funny too.  Walks into our bedroom, steals my favorite slippers and then sits on the floor in the living room and looks at us to see if we approve of her behavior.  "Is this OK?  Cuz, I might chew this thing to shreds?"

We are all so happy to have her as part of our family!

Welcome Home!
(ok, seriously, this is my bed...she matches ladies!!!)
