French Fry Friday - Modern Day Sweets!

Sweet Potato Fries with a twist!

INGREDIENTS & TOOLS:
Serves Four
4 Sweet Potatoes
Olive Oil
Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper

Cookie Sheets
Parchment Paper

Preheat Oven to 400

Peel potatoes, cut off ends

Cut each potato length wise, in half
then cut in half again.
Working with a flat bottom potato - makes slicing much easier, less dangerous if the knife slips.

Jazzing up the potatoes with my grandma's cutter makes me smile.
Place the potatoes single layered on the parchment paper lined cookie sheets.

Misto misting saves on the amount of oil that is sprayed on the potatoes.
As long as your mister isn't clogged.
Mine was.

So out with the PAM.
Spray evenly over the potatoes, add salt & pepper and garlic powder.

Other fun sprinklely add on choices:
BROWN SUGAR
CAYENNE
CURRY
MAPLE SYRUP
(our favorite!!)

Bake for 30 minutes.
Serve.

And quite possibly eat the entire bowl!

This version is a great dish to pass....
perhaps for Turkey Day!!!

  3. Yummy, my favorite! My husband makes them for me sprinkled with Dinosaur BBQ Foreplay. It's got a nice spicy kick to it. Then I like to dip them in raspberry maple syrup. mmm mmm good!

  5. Yu-u-u-u-my! I LOVE sweet potato fries! Really, I eat them at least once a week. I wonder, though, if they taste better when they're pretty like yours! I may have to try that....tonight.

  8. Ok, I have tried to make these from scratch probably 10 times, and they never turn out right. I'll try the Pam and see if that helps.
